There are a couple different ones I have seen. The first thing you will need is an unpacker program. Clear Sky was like a vintage European sports car- breaking down regularly but so much fun when it works you quickly forget about the breakdowns. Word on their website was that Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat were going to get makeovers as well.
STALKER CALL OF PRIPYAT GAMEDATA FOLDER MOD
With Shadow of Chernobyl, the best mod I played was the STALKER Complete 2009 patch. The two bugs that happened the most were crashing to desktop on loading a saved game and the all the text suddenly turning to Russian.
STALKER CALL OF PRIPYAT GAMEDATA FOLDER MODS
Some worked OK, but others, especially when used in combinations with other mods caused problems. I tried several different mods with Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky. For now, don’t use it, but remember the name if you are going to play the game another time. There is another more advanced mod called Oblivion Lost, but it changes the game to a more freeform dynamic experience. These add features like closed captioning, a repair system, armor non-degradation, revised trading rules, forcing the game to pre-fill (but not mark) all stash locations, and much more. In addition, the Compilation contains extra packages that have been customized with additional mods, including ones that don’t normally work together. On top of the ZRP fixes, I’ve included a HUD revamp mod, improved sound effects, the prefetch tweak (disables prefetching, a known cause of memory leaks), a mod that changes NPC names to proper Russian ones, a weather overhaul, and improved shader models. HereĪ collection of various smaller mods, including the ZRP, this mod compilation - put together by yours truly - was crafted to be an easy to use starter kit more or less for those of you who think the ZRP didn’t go far enough, or for those of you who want a simple plug-and-play mod package that just smooths out the rougher bits of the game. I also saw a compilation mod pack in the penny arcade forums.

ZRP (means zone reclamation project) is a general mod which tries to fix and improve the original game, like an unofficial patch, but without drastic changes to the gameplay. Weather overhaul is a nice weather and mood lightning modification, and includes the sharper textures mod and the float shaders mod. Are there any must-have mods that are compatible with the Steam version? (Same with Clear Sky, looking forward to Pripyat when it's released in February although I suppose importing the Polish version, as it has English audio, and using a translation mod might be doable as well but that would increase cost and such so I'll wait instead, haha.Hey guys, I’m going to pick this game up in the next couple of days off of Steam. (Normally cam_inert is best left at 0 for more responsive camera and mouse movements.)įor other mods I tried Stalker Complete 1.4.3.1 as well a while ago but didn't get far, felt like a reskin of the original game (Using all sorts of FBSBanana resources and mods like Weather Ovehaul, Sk4ce / Float 32 and others like panoramic and so on.) but with minor tweaks and additions, I've probably played out Stalker by now. If it's head bob and camera "lag" then the cam_inert console commands and a mod for head-bobbing might improve things a bit. If so then no, Clear Sky (And probably Call of Pripyat.) uses a technique that makes animations more fluid (FootIK, stepping is more correct, used in Saboteur and Fallout 3 as well to name other examples.) When you create a gamedate folder and tell the fsgame.ltx file to look in the gamedata folder by changing the 'false' to 'true' it no longer looks in the stalker game directory for essential files that run the game but instead it starts to look in the gamedata folder which obviously does not contain the essential game files. need to be placed in this folder and are larger files. Most of the texture mods for surfaces, weather etc. If you look at the screenshot I have attached you may understand more clearly. You need to use the 'stalker data unpacker' utility easily found by using google to extract the compressed files to the new folder called gamedata so that after you place mods in that folder and the game runs from the gamedata folder it uses the new modded files along with the original files.

db'x' the 'x' can be a number or a letter such as gamedata.db1 for e.g. The gamefiles are stored in the main directory and are compressed and have the extention. Click to expand.OK i'll try to explain how it works.
